Respect MO Voters
Explainer video about initiative petitions in Missouri
In the summer of 2026, I learned about Respect Missouri Voters from my mother-in-law who lives in Missouri and is reguarly involved with progressive politics. Respect MO Voters is a volunteer-led coalition working to protect and strengthen citizens’ law-making power in Missouri. I decided I wanted to take on this work pro-bono (though my MIL did reimburse me with a generous gift)!
The organization had already published a video featuring the character Mo the bear. We were able to reuse parts of that animation that another volunteer Sarah had worked on. We shared files via Google Drive, communicated on Slack, and split up the work seamlessly.
I animated the parts of the video from 0:00-0:28 and 0:53-1:12, plus the 2 characters high-fiving at the end by the voting booths.
This ended up being a fun project and easy collaboration!
